I'm home sick today. It's of a viral persuasion. No, I don't think it's the Swine Flu. So the Quarantine will not be necessary. Obviously it's Karma smacking me right in the gut for wishing a disease on someone else. Boo. Karma. Karma never takes long to come back around to me.
I let the babies stay home with me today. I didn't feel it was safe to drive them to daycare. My head felt like it was going to explode. Once they saw my weakened state, they really toughened up their defensive measures. Alas, I wasn't able to muster up the strength to wrestle them outside, into their car seats, and then into the daycare facility. Babies 1, Mama 0.
When I'm sick, I become convinced the only person in this world who loves me is my mom. She calls several times a day to check on me and offers assistance in anyway I need. I usually don't accept her help, but it's nice to know that someone really cares if I live or die or if my laundry is out of control. No one else has called.
Well that's not completely true, because Self Magazine did send me a text letting me know I need to make every meal and snack about 45% hi-fiber carbs, 30% healthy fat, and 25% lean protein. So besides Mom and Self Magazine no one is really concerned for my health. Clearly, I'm not bitter about it or pouting.
I'm feeling a little better now. There will be more posts to come today, a story involving my alter ego Paranoid Freak Mom. It's only one of the many hats I wear.
